Above is a Nanooze educational game, Nanocure. Center for Nanoscale Systems in Information Technology (CNS): CNS provides professional development workshops and courses for high school physics teachers, as well as a library of recommended laboratory experiments, course work and local resources that include the lending of lab equipment. Cornell Center for Materials Research Educational Programs (CCMR): The CCMR Educational Programs Office provides instructional resources and classes for K-12 teachers, including Lending Library of Experiments -- an archive of student activity sheets available for download on a selection of science topics. Other resources for teachers include lesson plans, teacher programs; resources for students include Ask A Scientist. Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility (CNF): The CNF provides tours of its facilities to middle school and high school students as well as creating workshops and events for students and teachers K-12 or above. Education at the the Nanobiotechnology Center: "Education at NBTC" is a local program that serves the needs of the K-12 community while also advancing the science literacy of the general public through the development of hands-on science, technology, engineering and math activities. National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN): The Cornell Nanocale Facility is a member of NNIN, whose goal includes the creation of a wide variety of educational outreach resources and programs. Aimed at K-12 teachers and students, NNIN activities include creating coursework and online instructional activities, science articles, an on-line student magazine (Nanooze), and a network of facilities providing local and national educational support. |

The Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC): MRSEC participates in a range of outreach activities aimed at engaging local K-12 teachers and students in its research and educational activities. It has also supported a local internship program for high school students, and works with teachers on educational and research projects through a program called RET: Research Experience for Teachers. The Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC): NSEC participates in a range of outreach activities directed at K-12 teachers and students, as well as undergraduates. NSEC has also partnered with the Museum of Science in Boston in public education activities. (Note: the Museum of Science provides an online archive of podcasts and videocasts on nanoscience, which are available on their website.) |
