The Kavli Foundation supports research in the areas of astrophysics, nanoscience, neuroscience, and theoretical physics – three scientific frontiers that promise great discoveries in the 21st century and beyond. This mission is implemented through an international program of research institutes, professorships, symposia and workshops, as well as prizes in the fields of astrophysics, nanoscience, and neuroscience.

Dedicated to advancing science for the benefit of humanity and promoting increased public understanding and support for scientists and their work, the Foundation also makes available materials on these sciences at no cost to educational institutions.
